Glenda Gibson: Career

Glenda Gibson’s multi-faceted and successful career as a Nursing Facility Administrator started when she graduated from the Stephenville branch of Texas A&M with a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.). She exceled in her studies and made the President’s List, which is a list of students with an outstanding academic score. Her other notable achievements while at college include being in the honor societies of Alpha Chi and Phi Theta Kappa. Her next step before embarking on her career was to do her graduate studies in Business Management, Administration, Finance, Marketing, and Computer Information Systems. She also got an Assisted Living Manager Certification.

Her first successful endeavor in the professional world was in the role of Nursing Facility Administrator from 2001-2004 at Kingsville Nursing and Rehabilitation. While there, she spearheaded successful marketing development and actively involved the community. In August 2001, the facility was at a net loss of $125K and reached positive $125K by the year’s end. In addition, she increased census 35% from 2001 to 2004.  Glenda Gibson - A Multi Talented Woman, realizing she was ready for the next step in her career, moved on to Lumberton Rehabilitation, where she increased overall in-house census by 20% and Medicare census by 45%. When the time came for her to change jobs again, she moved to Harborview Care Center, where she developed a successful marketing team, increasing census 20% overall and developed a focused rehab to home program, increasing census by 100%.
 
She still hadn’t reached her full potential though, but a job at Retama Manor Corpus Christi changed that. She worked there from 2008-2012, adding several more impressive achievements to her resume, including consistently improving receivables and reducing bad debt and team building which was reflected in reduced turn-over and department head stabilization. Furthermore, she opened a short-term Rapid Response unit supporting high acuity needs and utilizing numerous MCA replacement insurance and maximizing MCA reimbursement.

Following on her successes at Retama Manor, she accepted a job at Brazos Management Group as an Executive Director of Business Development in College Station, Texas, and it is there she remains today. Her notable achievements include developing community and medical contacts to achieve status as preferred provider, recruiting and stabilizing technical staff and developing in-house training program for advancement, and increasing revenue by 120%.
